Race Information

Date: Saturday May 27th, 2017

Location: Main Beach, Fernandina Beach, FL

The Ed Gaw Open Water Challenge has been a long standing community event that raises money for youth Aquatic Programs in Fernandina Beach, FL. There is always a casual and friendly atmosphere with lots of food, friends, and fun!

This year the race will be organized by the Amelia Island Lifesaving Association and Race Director Angela Ray. The city of Fernandina Beach Parks and Recreation Department, and the City of FB Ocean Rescue will be there to help with operations and safety!

Challenge yourself with a 500M, 1 Mile, or 5K course. We welcome the experienced competitive swimmers as well as strong swimmers that are just looking for a fun challenge.

This year each participant registered for the standard swimming events ($45) will recieve a silicone Ed Gaw Open Water Challenge swim cap, and a finisher's medal. The non-conventional race ($25) participants will recieve a trucker hat with the Amelia Island Lifesaving Association Logo!

Come share in the fun, and give yourself a great challenge!
